Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is a 36-credit hour residential program with a focus on real world practice. The program prepares students to apply concepts and principles of various business disciplines in order to become effective in management positions. Students can choose a “fast track” and earn their MBA degree in just 15 months from May to August. The program is designed to accomodate both business and non-business undergraduate students.

Students can choose to earn an MBA with a concentration in one of the following areas:

  • Cybersecurity Management
  • Human Resources Management
  • Project Managementu

Program Outcomes

MBA program graduates will demonstrate

  • the conceptual acument to make complex and ethical decisions
  • analytical and technical skills to solve problems
  • communication competence across various business settings
  • interpersonal aptitude to effectively lead an organization

Professional Opportunities

Students who have earned an undergraduate business degree learn the skills they need to succeed in business.  It may mean starting in positions just a step below management.  However, a Master of Business Administration can set graduates up for higher positions within a corporation. U.S. News & World Report lists the following as top positions for MBA graduates:

Program Admission Requirements

  • Submit admissions application to the Office of Admissions. Apply online now.
  • Pay $50 application fee along with application
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA
  • GMAT or GRE exam scores

Application Deadlines

  • Fall Deadline: August 1st
  • Spring Deadline: January 1st
  • Summer Deadline: May 1st

Tuition Cost

WV Resident: $483 per credit hour
Non-resident: $1,048 per credit hour

Accreditation: The MBA program in the School of Business at Fairmont State University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
