Students celebrate National Forensic Science Week

Fairmont State students recently participated National Forensic Science Week (September 16-22). To celebrate, Dr. Mark Flood and Ms. Kristy Henson, M.S. took their Intro to Forensic Science students to tour the West Virginia State Police Forensics Laboratory in Charleston. This is the only full forensics lab in the state. 

While at the lab, students visited Latent Prints, DNA, Toxicology, Drugs, and Firearm laboratories. Throughout the day, the students met forensic scientists and discussed potential research ideas. 

National Forensic Science Week recognizes the contribution that forensic science makes to the criminal justice system.
