"The Marvelous Wonderettes" comes to Fairmont State University

Stroll back in time as the Fairmont State University Town & Gown Theatre presents “The Marvelous Wonderettes”, June 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 16 at 2 p.m. in the Wallman Hall Theatre.

Dani DeVito, the daughter of Terry and Mary Frances Brake will be featured.Dani is a local graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and has played numerous roles during her time at Fairmont State. Some of her recent roles include Marian in “The Music Man”, Eve in “Children of Eden”, and Jo March in “Little Women.”

Bailey Nicole Kershner, the daughter of Lance and Sherie Kershner will also be in the production. Originally born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland, Bailey moved to Falling Waters, West Virginia before the third grade. Once in Falling Waters, she attended Hedgesville High School where she graduated in 2013, before heading off to Fairmont State University that fall. A few roles she has played include Morticia in "The Addams Family Musical", Emily in "A Rose for Emily”, and she choreographed and acted in "Reefer Madness: The Musical."

The show will also showcase Madeline Giambi, the daughter of Caroline Giambi. Madeline is a graduate of Martinsburg High School and has played numerous roles during her time at Fairmont State. Some of her recent roles include Alice in “The Addams Family the Musical” and Little Two-Shoes in “Urinetown the Musical.”

Miranda Folmsbee, the daughter of Steve and Amanda Folmsbeewill be featured in the Fairmont State University Town & Gown summer theatre production of “The Marvelous Wonderettes.” Miranda is a graduate of Liberty High School in Clarksburg, WV and has played numerous roles during her time at Fairmont State. Some of her recent roles include Tish in “The Arkansaw Bear” and Masha in “The Seagull.”

Created by Roger Bean, “The Marvelous Wonderettes” takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy (played by Dani DeVito), and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their hair-dos! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls serenade us with classic ‘50s hits including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “It’s my Party,” and “Mr. Sandman.” 

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for children under 12. Tickets go on sale May 28 and can be purchased by calling 304-367-4240.
