Fairmont State Alumni win Best Morning Show by WVBA

Nov 06, 2019

Each year, the West Virginia Broadcasters Association (WVBA) announce winners of their Excellence in Broadcasting Awards in various categories for television, digital media, and radio. For the second year in a row, WKKW’s “Jeff and Sarah in the Morning” was honored with the highly competitive and prestigious award for Best Morning Show. Award winners were chosen by a panel of judges representing peer broadcasting associations across the country.

For two years, Jeff Snider and Sarah Giosi have been hosting the WKKW Morning Show. With coverage to nearly half the state, together they provide witty humor and banter to listeners. They both have roots in West Virginia, growing up in Hundred and Morgantown respectively. Throughout their careers they have travelled the country and the world as ambassadors for the state of WV. Now, settled back in WV, they bring a unique local homegrown perspective to their award-winning show.

Besides their work with WV Radio, both Jeff and Sarah enjoy spending time with their spouses and children. Sarah is also very active in the community as a small business owner, owning CrossFit Morgantown with her husband and providing health and wellness services to the community. She also volunteers on various boards and committees throughout North Central West Virginia and has maintained a relationship with Fairmont State University through the Children’s Art Academy. Sarah also co-hosts “Talk of the Town”, a local talk show on WAJR which has featured guest appearances by Fairmont State University President Dr. Mirta Martin.

Jeff and Sarah are both alumni of Fairmont State University, receiving degrees in Communications and Theatre.

“Truly, I believe my time at Fairmont State University helped greatly in preparing me for the job I have now," stated Giosi. “The faculty was incredibly supportive and nurturing, and I believe their model for practical instruction served me throughout my career.”

Listeners can hear “Jeff and Sarah in the Morning” each weekday from 6-10 a.m.
