With the “Welcome Home” Homecoming 2019 officially kicking off on Thursday, October 24, entries are now being accepted for the Fairmont State Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 26 at 10 a.m.

As we near the end of Fall semester, we find ourselves in a sweet-spot of calm that lies peacefully between the warm but busy atmosphere of Homecoming and the often-hectic season of the holidays (and finals). This respite is a great time to reflect on Homecoming 2018 – doing so not only reminds us of where come from, but it also gives us insight as to where we’re going. 

Homecoming 2019 set for October 24-26

Fairmont State University will host Homecoming 2019 October 24-26 with the theme “Welcome Home.” 

“This is about welcoming home our Falcon family, our alumni,” President Dr. Mirta Martin said. “We are excited to welcome home generations of our alumni who choose to return home during Homecoming. Some are able to return every year and for others it may be decades since they’ve been back.” 

Fairmont State welcomes new and returning students with move-in, Welcome Weekend

Last week hundreds of Fairmont State University Falcon students moved into their new homes for the next several months with the help of faculty, staff, and students. 

President Dr. Mirta Martin was out working alongside them as they all meet the newest cast of Falcons with big smiles, Welcome Home tents, and a lot of help. Students, faculty, and staff worked diligently to unload cars and transport supplies to students’ rooms. 

Fairmont State welcomes home new and returning students to kick-off Welcome Weekend

Thursday hundreds of Falcon students moved into their “nests” for the next several months with the help of faculty, staff, and students at Fairmont State University. 

President Mirta Martin worked alongside the campus team as they met the newest cast of Falcons with smiles, cold water, and large Welcome Home tents. The biggest brigade consisted of students who worked to unload cars and carry supplies to student’s rooms.
