Fairmont State BOG approves University’s Presidential Search Committee

The Fairmont State University Board of Governor’s met on Thursday, September 15, approving the slate of members presented to serve on the University’s Presidential Search Committee. 

The Presidential Search Committee will be chaired by board members Jennifer Kinty and Kevin Rogers. Fairmont State University Faculty Senate President, Charles Shields, will also tri-chair the committee.

West Virginia native, John Amos, has known his calling from a young age: healthcare. Many children aspire to become physicians or nurses in hopes of saving lives. However, Amos explained he is rather drawn to the behind-the-scenes roles in healthcare settings.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the healthcare field, but I knew I didn’t want to provide hands-on care in a clinical position,” Amos said.

Fairmont State graduate students pursuing Master of Science in Healthcare Management degrees, Dominique Fusco-Davis and Trevor Harman, are the first to receive financial awards from the Rosita Alvarez Schneider Scholarship. The scholarship fund was established in the fall of 2020 to support graduate student endeavors in the Fairmont State Master of Science in Healthcare Management program.
