Fairmont State University invites new students to attend upcoming orientation sessions

Fairmont State University prepares to welcome first-time freshmen and transfer students to campus for orientation. Over the summer, new students will have to opportunity to attend one of several orientation sessions. Some orientation sessions will be open to students of any major, but college-specific orientation sessions will take place also be available for those interested.

Fairmont State University to welcome incoming students during orientation events

Fairmont State University will provide several opportunities for incoming freshmen and transfer students to attend on-campus orientation at a Welcome Wednesday or weekend session, in addition to virtual orientations prior to the fall 2022 semester.

During the on-campus sessions, students will tour campus and residence halls, obtain their student ID cards, meet with advisors to schedule courses for the fall semester and more. 

Fairmont State University Extending Dates for On-Campus Orientation

Fairmont State University is extending its Welcome Wednesday on-campus orientation sessions to include four more dates throughout the summer.  

“We have hosted three Welcome Wednesday events so far, and students and their parents have told us time and time again just how happy they are to be here on campus to have this experience in person,” said Chris Sharps, Fairmont State Senior Director of Recruitment.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fairmont State University has identified new ways to provide a common rite of passage and an essential steppingstone for incoming freshmen--New Student Orientation. For the safety of everyone involved an online format is being used to ensure incoming students are still able to experience all parts of Orientation from the safety of their home.
