Fairmont State University will host a series of events as part of the University’s Welcome Weekend, taking place Thursday, August 4 – Sunday, August 7. The aim of Welcome Weekend programming is to allow new students to become acclimated on campus prior to the first week of classes, beginning Monday, August 8.
As West Virginia continues its phased reopening and the COVID-19 new positive test numbers for Marion County continues to be zero, Fairmont State University has re-envisioned their academic calendar to keep students safe while still attending face-to-face classes on the campus that they love.
Last week hundreds of Fairmont State University Falcon students moved into their new homes for the next several months with the help of faculty, staff, and students.
President Dr. Mirta Martin was out working alongside them as they all meet the newest cast of Falcons with big smiles, Welcome Home tents, and a lot of help. Students, faculty, and staff worked diligently to unload cars and transport supplies to students’ rooms.
