FSU Receives State Arts Partner Grant

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced that Fairmont State University was awarded an Arts Partner grant in August 2014 to support a concert featuring the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Christina Lavorata, FSU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, attended a ceremony at the West Virginia State Capitol to receive the check for $7,200. The Arts Partners grant provides general operating support to long-standing, stable arts organizations.

The Open Source Intelligence Exchange at Fairmont State University (OSIX-FSU) has been selected to participate in a matching grant challenge through the West Virginia Research Trust Fund STEM Grant Program for State Colleges and Universities.

Grant Funds Events in March with Focus on Social Justice

A lecture and workshop series at Fairmont State University this spring will promote discussion about the social justice issues of civil liberties and universal human rights for prisoners during times of war. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission has awarded FSU a $5,700 grant to help fund the events, which are planned for March 2010.
