Fairmont State Xerox machines are now set up to allow printing from personal devices such as laptops or cell phones. Students wishing to print to a campus Xerox printer will find instructions for doing so on the ID Card Printing Page. You must have sufficient Falcon Dollars in your Fairmont State account in order to print.
If you need to print from a campus computer, you can still do so. Documents can also be accessed and printed from campus lab computers if you have saved your work in your OneDrive or on a flash drive, or if you are printing something from a website. You can also email a document to yourself, then access your email on a lab computer to print the attachment. Your account will be charged immediately for any printing.

Fairmont State University uses Voice over IP technology for their phone system. The voice mail system is known as Unity. Please dial 8 before the area code and number in order to make an outside call. On-campus calls can be made simply by dialing the 4 digit extension. Please see below for instructions for using other features of the Cisco IP phones available in classrooms and offices on campus.
To begin transferring calls:
To turn off call forwarding, press CFwdALL (Call Forward All) button to cancel the forward.
*This will cause the phone to cycle and look for a connection. This step is very similar to restarting a computer.
If you are unsure of your current voice mail password (pin), or if you need additional assistance with using your campus phone, please contact the Tech Commons at ext. 4810 for assistance.
Follow these steps to make a conference call from a campus phone:
Please note: The More button doesn’t appear until you’ve made the first call. It will be on the phone screen where redial, new call, and cfwdall show when the phone isn’t in use.
To put the projector screen down and turn the projector on, hit the power button on the black box on top of the podium.
To raise the screen back up and turn the projector off, hit the power button again.
To lower the projector, use the white panel located in the cubby to the left of the computer. This panel will have an up and down arrow to raise and lower the screen.
To turn the projector on, you will use the “Power On” and “Power Off” buttons on the long black box on the shelf in the cubby.
Please log out of the computer, turn off the projector, and raise the projector screen when you are finished using it. If you need any help with the projector, screen, or computer in either of these rooms, please stop by the library circulation desk or the Tech Commons for assistance.
You use the same steps to hide a course from the Courses tab or from the My Courses module on the My Institution tab.
Make sure there are fresh batteries in the device.
If none of these steps help, Call the Tech Commons at 304-367-4810.
