Clone of Blackboard outage, November 1

We experienced a Blackboard outage November 1, from about 3:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Faculty were able to log in to Blackboard, but students were not.

Blackboard outage, May 14

We experienced a Blackboard outage May 14, from approximately 10:10 p.m. until 11:10 p.m.

Blackboard outage, May 13

We experienced a Blackboard outage May 13, from approximately 6:25 a.m. until 7:10 a.m.

Blackboard Archiving and Upgrade Schedule

IT plans to archive Blackboard courses beginning May 19. 

The Blackboard upgrade to the latest version is scheduled for May 22.

Partnership with WVNET to provide 24/7 Blackboard assistance

We are excited to begin offering 24/7 Blackboard support for faculty and students through a partnership with WVNET. We have contracted with WVNET to supplement our current support by offering evening and weekend Blackboard assistance.

Please continue to contact the Teaching & Learning Commons during our normal business hours, and contact WVNET for assistance outside those hours. WVNET will be able to support Blackboard questions only; all other questions should be directed to the Teaching & Learning Commons as usual.

Outage of Big Blue Button

We experienced an outage of Big Blue Button from 3:45 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on June 3. 

Internet Outage 5/7/2014

Please be advised that we experienced a campus-wide internet outage this morning for approximately 40 minutes.  We also had issues that prevented some students from using Respondus LockDown Browser from the evening of May 5 until this morning.  If you have questions related to these issues, contact the Teaching & Learning Commons at 307-367-4810 or

Blackboard Crocodoc Outage Resolved

Blackboard reports that the Crocodoc issue has been resolved and all services should be functioning properly.  If you have any continued issues, please contact the Teaching & Learning Commons at 304-367-4810 or

Blackboard "Crocodoc" Tool Outage

Blackboard has reported a widespread issue with the Crocodoc tool.  This is the tool that runs the inline grading, so the issue can cause problems in the submission and grading of assignments, blogs and journals.  We have a ticket open with Blackboard and will update you when the issue is resolved.

Quality Matters "Improve Your Online Course" Training Still Available

There is still funding available for enrollment in the QM Improve Your Online Class (IYOC) online training session.  Sessions are two weeks in length and begin on the following dates:
