Fairmont State University will be hosting a grand reopening event to celebrate the conclusion of several major updates that have been made to the Admissions and Welcome Center over the last few months. The event will take place on Friday, January 20 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at 105 Turley Center.
“The Admissions and Welcome Center is often the first stop for prospective students,” said Director of Admissions Summer Boggess. “We wanted the new and improved Welcome Center to accurately reflect Fairmont State and who we are as a university. We want future students to walk in and really see what being a Falcon is all about.”
The Welcome Center was rebranded with current and future students in mind. The updates made to the improved Welcome Center include new student-centered decor, new TV monitors, and other cosmetic upgrades.
“We wanted the Welcome Center to become a place that students feel comfortable coming back to after their first visit experience,” said Assistant Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life Alicia Kalka. “We’ve aimed to create a space that is comfortable for current students, whether that’s to speak with a trusted staff member, to study, or just to relax.”
The grand reopening is open to the campus community to attend. Participants are welcome to attend at any time throughout the day to see the Welcome Center’s most recent improvements.
