Friday, April 26, 2019

Fairmont State University’s Kylie Ford, assistant professor of art, has been selected as a new member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP), where artists have to go through a juried process to become a member.

As one of the oldest running arts organizations in the country, Ford is honored to contribute to the dialogue of this thriving community of makers. “With this acceptance comes exhibition, mentoring, and community outreach opportunities to expand creative networks and critical discourse within the field of contemporary art,” Ford said.

The Associated Artists of Pittsburgh presents an exhibition of work by recently accepted members and it will be curated by Transmitter Gallery of Brooklyn, New York. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, May 11, from 6-9 p.m. on the second floor of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Media located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Hours at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Media are Tuesdays–Saturdays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m.–4 p.m. and is closed Mondays. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.
