Fairmont State Reminds Falcon Fans of Homecoming Parade Route

Wednesday, October 06, 2021

The tunes of Fairmont State University’s marching band will fill the air on Saturday, October 9, when the annual Homecoming Parade makes its return to Fairmont.

“Homecoming is all about community and friendship – the very foundations of the Falcon Family’s strength,” said Fairmont State University President, Mirta M. Martin. “We are thrilled to once again celebrate our long-awaited Homecoming. We hope that all members of our Falcon Family – not just our campus community, but also our dear friends in the surrounding communities – will join us in celebrating, enjoy the parade, and participate throughout the entire week of Homecoming festivities and events.”

The parade line up will begin at 9 a.m. at Palatine Park, and will kick-off at 10 a.m. The parade will make its way from Palatine Park across Third Street before turning left onto Locust Avenue to end at the intersection of Squibb Wilson Boulevard on campus.

“Each year the Homecoming Committee works diligently to improve our events for the Falcon Family to enjoy, and continuing the parade route introduced in 2019 allows us to do just that,” said Assistant Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life, Alicia Kalka. “Our Homecoming Parade is truly a magical event, and we look forward to celebrating the Falcon Family together with both our campus and surrounding communities.”

The Homecoming Parade will be available for livestreaming on the Fairmont State University Facebook page, allowing for those unable to attend to join virtually with the Falcon Family in real-time.
