Fairmont State to celebrate 153rd Commencement

Fairmont State University will honor graduates during the University’s 153rd Fall Commencement this Saturday, November 19 in the Feaster Center. The 10 a.m. ceremony will recognize the College of Business & Aviation and the College of Liberal Arts. At 2 p.m. graduates from the Colleges of Education, Health & Human Performance, Nursing, and Science and Technology will have their degrees conferred, in addition to Regents Bachelor of Arts graduates.

Fairmont State’s Feaster Center was filled with anticipation and excitement Friday afternoon when hundreds of new students gathered to officially mark the beginning of their journeys as members of the Falcon Family at the University’s annual Convocation Ceremony. 

“You have started this journey together, and you will finish this journey together,” said Fairmont State University President, Mirta M. Martin, to those in attendance.

Fairmont State University Students Elected to Student Government Association

Members of the Fairmont State University student body have elected a group of their fellow Falcons to Student Government Association leadership positions for the upcoming year.  

Those individuals chosen to represent their peers are Zach Taylor, SGA President, Isaac Leech, SGA Vice President, Mackenzie Sorton, SGA Secretary and Clay Burrows, SGA Treasurer. The newly elected officers were officially sworn in to their positions during a virtual ceremony last month.
