Fairmont State receives grant for International Women's Day Celebration

Fairmont State University has been awarded $5,975 through the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Diversity for Equity grant program to enhance the university’s annual International Women’s Day Celebration.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has proclaimed this week as "College Application and Exploration Week" in recognition of the statewide campaign organized by the College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV). Staff from nearly 450 schools will host college-planning activities throughout the week to help students consider their postsecondary education opportunities.

Caperton Center to Host College Goal Sunday

The Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg will be one of multiple locations throughout the state to host the annual College Goal SundaySM event on Sunday, Feb. 15, presented by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.

The College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV), the West Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and several other college access programs work together to coordinate the event.

Gaston Caperton Center to Host 2014 College Goal Sunday

The Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg will be one of 25 locations throughout the state to host the annual College Goal SundaySM event on Sunday, Feb. 9, presented by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission.

The College Foundation of West Virginia (CFWV), the West Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and several other college access programs including TRiO and GEAR UP work together to coordinate the event.

FSU Winter Commencement to Take Place Dec. 14

About 150 students will participate in Winter Commencement for Fairmont State University at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Feaster Center. A reception in the Falcon Center will immediately follow the ceremony.

Higher Education Day at the Legislature on March 21 was held at the State Capitol to recognize West Virginia’s higher education institutions and to provide information to potential students, policymakers and the general public regarding the postsecondary education opportunities available in West Virginia.
