The Professional Development Schools (PDS) Partnership today includes schools in Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Taylor and Wetzel counties.

Attending the event were students, their families, alumni, representatives of the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc., staff members from the Office of Institutional Advancement, scholarship donors and faculty and staff of the School of Education, Health and Human Performance.

A Fairmont State University dean has been named as the 2013 recipient of the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools (CSGS) Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate Education in the Southern Region.

Dr. Van Dempsey, Dean of the School of Education, Health and Human Performance at FSU, was presented with the award on Feb. 23 at the 42nd CSGS Annual Meeting in Greenville, S.C.

PROMISE Beyond Offers New Opportunities for PROMISE Scholars

West Virginia students who qualify as PROMISE Scholars can take advantage of a new scholarship program called PROMISE Beyond that aims to cover the full cost of tuition at Fairmont State University.

The scholarships awarded through this program would be a four-year commitment by the University, and students receiving these scholarships would be required to maintain a minimum GPA once enrolled at FSU.
