Fairmont State University’s WV Folklife Center to host Spring Celebration April 28

Fairmont State University’s Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will host a Spring Celebration on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. The event will begin with a short concert by the Kennedy Barn String Band, followed by an awards ceremony and concluding with a brief introduction to the Trunk of Traditional Tunes Museum Exhibit.

Folklife Center to host 2019 Gala Celebration Concert honoring Dave Bing

Join the Frank and Jane Gabor WV Folklife Center at the 2019 Gala Celebration Concert honoring musician and teacher Dave Bing.

On Saturday, September 21st at 3 p.m., the Folklife Center will hold a concert in the Great Room of Cultures on the second floor of the center to honor Traditions Salute Award Recipient Dave Bing. The event will feature music from the Kennedy Barn String Band, an award presentation, and music from Mr. Bing and fellow musicians.

The Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center is hosting a three-day gala celebration to honor traditional music performer and teacher Dave Bing. A native West Virginian, Bing is the recipient of the 2019 Traditions Salute Award given by the Folklife Center to a person who has demonstrated a passion and commitment toward the advancement of West Virginia folk culture through education and public resources.
