Depicting the pioneering men and women of the American Midwest, the musical "Oklahoma!" features well-known songs such as "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning," "People Will Say We're in Love," and, of course, "Oklahoma":

"Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain

"Dear God. How did you know you were God?" "Dear God. Are you really invisible or is that just a trick?" "Dear God. How come you did all the miracles in the old days and you don't do any now?" Based on the book by Stuart Hample and Eric Marshall, "Children's Letters to God" is a show for the entire family.   

Fairmont State University's fourth Masquers theatre group production of the 2009-2010 academic year, Christopher Marlowe's "Edward II," takes the Wallman Hall stage this week.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and the Department of Language and Literature present the American Shakespeare Center's "Rough, Rude & Boisterous Tour" for a week of Elizabethan lyricism, love and oh-so-bitter woe. Beginning Thursday, March 25, three separate productions will take place - "Romeo & Juliet," "All's Well that Ends Well" and "Knight of the Burning Pestle" - as well as some highly instructive workshops.

The Fairmont State University Masquers theatre group opens the spring 2010 semester with the production of an award-winning contemporary play. In the tradition of great backstage comedies, Jane Martin's "Anton in Show Business," winner of the 2001 American Theatre Critics Steinberg New Play Award, conveys the joys, pains and absurdities of "putting on a play" at the turn of the century.

Coal dust runs through the veins of the people of North Central West Virginia. Unfortunately, the history of the coal industry also includes tragedy -- Monongah in 1907, Farmington in 1968, Sago in 2006. These dark days are woven into the collective memories of a region.

Fairmont State University's School of Fine Arts and the Town & Gown Youth Company will present the musical "Godspell" on the main campus in January. The production features FSU students and recent graduates in the roles of production staff and area public school students in the acting roles.
