Outstanding Faculty Members Honored

Fairmont State University’s outstanding faculty members were honored during the Recognition of Faculty Achievement ceremony for their exemplary efforts throughout the 2011-2012 academic year.

“Fairmont State truly is set apart by this tremendous faculty. While we can tout an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, as compared to larger institutions, that statistic only becomes meaningful when we consider the quality of our faculty,” said FSU President Maria Rose.

Cast Members Needed for Production of "South Pacific"

Cast members are needed for the Fairmont State University Town & Gown Summer Theatre production of “South Pacific” at Prickett’s Fort State Park this summer. Auditions will be held Tuesday, May 1, and Thursday, May 3. There will be roles for men and women ages 17 and older and two children ages 7 to 10.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and Masquers theatre group present “What the Butler Saw,” a comedy by Joe Orton, in the Wallman Hall Theatre over two weekends in April. Performances are planned for at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22; and 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 26, 27 and 28. Students Can Participate in Juried Art Exhibition

The Student Juried Exhibition takes place at the end of each academic year. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to compete by participating in a juried show, something which as artists they will continue doing for the rest of their lives.  

Students Take "Hush" on Tour to Public Schools

If you have ever attended a play in Wallman Hall Theatre, you know that Fairmont State University has an active and dedicated Theatre program. During spring break 2012, all that enthusiasm and talent went on tour as part of an outreach program that the Theatre Department participates in every four years, bringing “Hush: An Interview with America” to audiences at Spencer Middle School, Blennerhassett Middle School in Parkersburg and Lewis County High School.
