J.Edgar Hoover Scholarship Presented to Fairmont State

A gift from The Former Agents of the FBI Foundation will help fund scholarships for Fairmont State University students.

Former Special Agent Gary L. Stoops of Little Rock, Ark., worked for many years with the National White Collar Crime Center and was instrumental in the creation of the National Security and Intelligence Program at FSU and its Open Source Intelligence Exchange (OSIX) laboratory at Fairmont State.

The National Security and Intelligence Program and the Open Source Intelligence Exchange at Fairmont State sponsored a special event for students, faculty and staff on Sept. 26.

Assistant Director David Cuthbertson of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation visited campus and presented a talk on “The FBI’s CJIS Division: Providing Identity Intelligence to Our Partners in Law Enforcement.”

A grant from Lockheed Martin Corporation, IS&GS National will support Fairmont State University’s Open Source Intelligence Exchange (OSIX), which is the laboratory and applied research component of the National Security and Intelligence (NSI) program.

The OSIX Experience chronicles Fairmont State University's Open Source Intelligence Exchange (OSIX) student-analysts as they provide real-time intelligence support during President Obama's 2010 visit to Beckley, West Virginia. OSIX is the laboratory and applied research component of Fairmont State University's National Security and Intelligence Program. The OSIX Experience was produced by Allegheny Image Factory.
