Fairmont State alumna, Jennifer Kinty, has been appointed to serve on the University’s Board of Governors through June 30, 2025. Kinty has longstanding ties with the University, and previously served as the Fairmont State Foundation Board of Directors Chairwoman.

Fairmont State University Launches COVID-19 Supplemental Aid Program

Fairmont State University has announced the COVID-19 Supplemental Aid Program to provide financial support to students for the 2021 – 2022 academic year. The University will begin distributing awards to both full and part-time students beginning September 13. Students enrolled full-time for the fall semester will be awarded $1,500, while students enrolled part-time will receive $1,000.

Fairmont State University Extending Dates for On-Campus Orientation

Fairmont State University is extending its Welcome Wednesday on-campus orientation sessions to include four more dates throughout the summer.  

“We have hosted three Welcome Wednesday events so far, and students and their parents have told us time and time again just how happy they are to be here on campus to have this experience in person,” said Chris Sharps, Fairmont State Senior Director of Recruitment.

Fairmont State University Board of Governors Convenes In-Person

The Fairmont State University Board of Governors held its first in-person, full Board meeting since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday, June 17 in the Falcon Center.

Following committee updates, Board members Dixie Yann and John Schirripa were recognized for their service to the University’s Board of Governors as the end of their term appointments approaches on June 30.
