Fairmont State honored spring graduates during the University’s 153rd Commencement in the Feaster Center. The University celebrated the achievements of its newest alumni from each of its five colleges during ceremonies taking place throughout the weekend, including two special student athlete ceremonies and Fairmont State Alumni Golden Jubilee Celebration for the Class of 1972.

A special student athlete ceremony and Fairmont State Alumni Golden Jubilee Celebration for the Class of 1972 will take place on Friday, April 29, followed by five separate ceremonies to honor graduates from each college Saturday, April 30 – Sunday, May 1.

Fairmont State University’s WV Folklife Center to host Spring Celebration April 28

Fairmont State University’s Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will host a Spring Celebration on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. The event will begin with a short concert by the Kennedy Barn String Band, followed by an awards ceremony and concluding with a brief introduction to the Trunk of Traditional Tunes Museum Exhibit.

Fairmont State student awarded Walter Regula Mathematics Teacher-in-Training Grant

The West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics has named Fairmont State University student, Megan Kite, the recipient of its 2022 Walter Regula Mathematics Teacher-in-Training Grant. The $600 award is granted annually to an outstanding college or university student training to become a mathematics teacher with intentions of teaching in West Virginia.
