Masquers

The Fairmont State University student theatre organization Masquers will present Magic Theatre (February 16-19, 2023), performed in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State. 

Magic Theatre is a roller coaster of action, sound, and images. The play is an improvisational and transformational journey for the audience. The actors create entire worlds using their voices, bodies, instruments, and, most importantly, their imaginations. 

During an upcoming film screening, it will be OK to throw toast toward the screen. In fact, it’s encouraged.

The Fairmont State University student organization Masquers, will present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show Shadow Cast” at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. in Colebank Gym.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and the Masquers theatre group will present “The Importance of Being Earnest,” Oscar Wilde’s most popular play, in February in Wallman Hall.

In celebration of Fairmont State University’s Sesquicentennial this year, the FSU Theatre Program is presenting a season of plays taken from the Masquers history.

The first show of the 2015-2016 season is “The Boy Friend,” first produced at Fairmont State in 1959 and directed by Jo Ann Lough.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and the Masquers theatre group present Paul Rudnick’s “I Hate Hamlet” in February.

The Fairmont State University Masquers theatre group collected more than $700 in monetary and material donations for The Nest, the FSU student food bank, during the December 2014 performance run of "It's A Wonderful Life." The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and Masquers theatre group join the lineup of worldwide organizations that will present readings of Caridad Svich’s new play “Upon the Fragile Shore” on Monday, Nov. 17, as part of an “artivist” play reading and digital film action that explores human rights and environmental issues.

The Fairmont State University Masquers theatre group and the School of Fine Arts will present the play “The Grouch” by Menander on the Wallman Hall stage.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and the Masquers theatre group present “Hush: An Interview with America,” a humorous and heartfelt play for young audiences. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in Wallman Hall Theatre on the main Fairmont campus. For three Fairmont State University theatre majors, weeks of research and rehearsal will culminate in the two evenings of performance and their directorial debut. Also at stake is an opportunity to direct on the main stage of Wallman Hall in the spring.
