Fairmont State University’s Homecoming celebration returns on Thursday, September 22, kicking-off with the Homecoming Parade lead by parade marshal and 1949 Fairmont State graduate, Maureen Kennedy Wolfe.

Fairmont State University will honor the 2022 Alumni Award Winners during the Fairmont State Alumni & Emeritus Luncheon as part of the University’s Homecoming celebration. The Alumni & Emeritus Luncheon will take place on Friday, September 23 at noon in Falcon Center Gym 1.

Fairmont State University’s 2022 Homecoming celebration will take place September 22 – 24. Various activities will take place throughout the weekend to be enjoyed by campus and surrounding communities, along with alumni of the University.

Fairmont State University welcomes Katie Byers as she begins her tenure as Director of Alumni Relations during the University’s Homecoming. As she continues in this role, Byers will work to grow and engage the Fairmont State alumni network.

Fairmont State University will honor the 2020 – 2021 Alumni Award Winners during the Fairmont State Alumni Celebration to take place during Homecoming. The celebration will be held on Friday, October 8 in Falcon Center Gym 1, with the doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and the program slated to begin at 4 p.m.

Fairmont State University Board of Governors Chairman, David Goldberg, was named the inaugural recipient of the Francis H. Pierpont Visionary Award at the Marion County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Wednesday, August 11.

The Fairmont State Alumni Association serves as the non-profit organization that engages and works to build relationships between Fairmont State University and alumni, and has recently announced the addition of ten new board members.

Fairmont State University is announcing the retirement of Budd Sapp, a tenured professor in the School of Education as well as the faculty representative on the Board of Governors. 

A graduate of Fairmont State, Sapp taught and coached 17 years in the Marion County school system before beginning his work at Fairmont State in 1997 as a public school teaching fellow and officially joining the University in 1998. 

The Fairmont State Alumni Association and CEC- Civil and Environmental Consultants join together again to host the 2nd Dueling Pianos Fundraiser at Fairmont State University. The event will be on Friday March 20th, 2020 in Colebank Hall at Fairmont State University. A social hour begins at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., followed by the performance.

With the theme “There’s No Place Like Fairmont,” Fairmont State University will celebrate Homecoming 2016 from Thursday, Sept. 29, through Saturday, Oct. 1. The Fairmont State Alumni Association will welcome back the Class of 1966 for their induction into the Emeritus Club.
