Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center hires new Director and announces upcoming season of events

On November 6, 2022, Dr. Lydia Warren joined Fairmont State University as the new Director of the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center. Warren brings experience in museums, music, and grant writing to the role. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College, and an Associate of Science from Middlesex Community College.

Kestrel Issue 40 celebration set for April 12-13

Kestrel: A Journal of Literature and Art, the Fairmont State University Department of Language and Literature, and the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center will launch Issue 40 with a two-day celebration. 

On Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m., visiting writers will participate in a panel discussion in Jaynes Hall 310. A reception and readings will take place at the Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center from 5:30-8 p.m.

Literary journal receives WV Humanities Council grant
