The spring semester is now in full swing, which means it’s time to dust off your school supplies, prioritize homework assignments and start creating effective study tactics. Fairmont State University will continue its annual SOAR Award events to provide first-time freshmen admitted to the University a $500 annually renewable scholarship for up to four years. The SOAR Award opportunities were established in 2018 to assist students offset their educational costs as an institutional commitment to student achievement and success.
College for West Virginia, an online resource for high school students across the state, has designated November 1 - 5 as College Application Week. Hosted annually, the campaign seeks to increase the Higher Education Policy Commission’s efforts to grow the number of students choosing to pursue postsecondary education.
Students interested in attending Fairmont State University between now and the fall 2022 term are eligible to apply for admission without submitting an ACT or SAT score. Fairmont State announced the testing requirement waiver last fall due to situations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the University will continue to honor this admissions policy through the next enrollment cycle.
Fairmont State University will host future Falcons during the on-campus Maroon & White Day on Saturday, October 16. Maroon & White Day provides the opportunity for both traditional and non-traditional prospective students and their families to explore Fairmont State’s offerings, including more than 80 programs of study.
Fairmont State University has extended its deadline for fall enrollment to Monday, August 9. Prospective students applying to the University through August 9 are eligible to receive grants or scholarships, register for classes and apply for financial aid and the University’s COVID-19 Supplemental Aid Program.
