The Joe n’ Throw in Fairmont has played a major role in revitalizing Downtown. This video features FSU alum Mike Ray as he talks about the impact his pottery classes, and art in general, make in his community.
Make Marion County Shine is a county wide initiative to clean up our communities, led by FSU graduates Jackie Fitch and Iris Canfield. This video showcases impact effective collaboration between FSU and community members has instigated change.
The community garden at Oliver Park in Fairmont has been an incredible community wide project. This video features FSU student and President of FSU’s Collegiate 4H program, Leah Yoho, showing her impact in her community through her work at the garden.
Each year, the Fairmont State Alumni Association celebrates the achievements of former students and honors them at the annual Alumni Awards Brunch during Homecoming.
Fairmont State alumni and the community are invited to submit the name of outstanding alumni in three categories: Outstanding Alumni, Alumni of Achievement and Outstanding Young Alumni Awards. Awards are presented to one alumna and one alumnus in each category.
With the theme “Almost Heaven: A Salute to West Virginia,” Homecoming 2013 for Fairmont State University through Saturday, Oct. 12, is a week packed with alumni, athletics, student and community events. For more information on Homecoming activities, click here.
As part of Homecoming 2013 for Fairmont State University, six exceptional alumni will be honored at the annual Alumni Awards Brunch at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Fairmont State Alumni Association celebrated the golden anniversary of the Class of 1962 as part of Homecoming 2012. The event, sponsored by Wesbanco Bank, included many memories and reflections from class members.

Every Homecoming, the Fairmont State Alumni Association and Muriale’s Restaurant celebrate FSU’s athletic tradition with Falcon Fest. Each team and their coaches, along with intramural squads, are invited to come out and celebrate the week with their peers. It has become a tradition for the teams and something they look forward to every year.
