FSU FACT Center funded through grant

The George W. Bowers Family Charitable Trust provided a $15,000 grant toward the Forensic and Analytical Chemistry Technology (FACT) Center at Fairmont State University. The grant funding will go toward the purchase of two key pieces of instrumentation as well as establishing a summer camp for children ages 9-18.

Alumni Association Hosts MEC Tournament Social in Charleston

The Fairmont State Alumni Association invites FSU alumni and friends to attend a special event during the 2016 Mountain East Conference Tournament in Charleston.

The Alumni Association will host a social, presented by Hendrickson & Long, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Celsius Lounge, 212 Hale St., Charleston. Transportation will be provided to the Civic Center for evening session games. Admission to the social is free, but gifts to the Fairmont Fund are encouraged.

Fairmont State Foundation Names Director of Development

The Fairmont State Foundation has named Jessica Sell Director of Development. Sell comes to the Foundation after serving the last three years on the staff of Senator Joe Manchin following prior positions at non-profit TSEA, the University of California at Irvine and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. FaiHer appointment with the Foundation will begin in January of 2016.

Buckhannon Student Receives Sgt. Todd May Memorial Scholarship

A Buckhannon student attending Fairmont State University has been awarded the 2014-2015 Sgt. Todd May Memorial Scholarship.

Aimee Knight, a senior Criminal Justice major, was presented with the scholarship during the FSU College of Liberal Arts Academic Awards Ceremony in May. She joins past scholarship recipients Cory Frasco and Tyler Hawkins.
