Dr. Anne Patterson, Fairmont State University professor of music, has received the Ann Kathryn Flagg Artist or Art Supporter Award during the 2018 Legacy of Women Awards, presented by the West Virginia Women’s Commission.

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) will present a special Baroque concert at Fairmont State University’s Colebank Hall on Monday, Oct. 23.

During a ceremony on Thursday, April 27, Fairmont State University awarded Maestro Grant Cooper, Conductor and Artistic Director of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra since 2001, an honorary Doctor of Letters degree, the University’s highest honor.

A Fairmont State University adjunct professor in the Department of Music has been selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in March.

The Fairmont State University Department of Music will present the fifth annual Fête de Noël holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in Colebank Hall.

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra returns to Fairmont for its 14th season on the Fairmont State University campus on Monday, Sept. 26. Maestro Grant Cooper, will conduct the Fairmont program titled “Folk Traditions.”
