Original Production Comes to Wallman Hall Theatre

The Fairmont State University department of communication and theatre arts is excited to present “Voices Realigned: Rewind, Revisit, and Remember” an original theatre production. The play will be performed in the Wallman Hall Theatre on the campus of Fairmont State on April 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 304-367-4240.

Peace Corps Volunteer to Discuss Service to Rwanda

Recent Fairmont State University graduate, Kurtis Dennison, will be leading a session on his experience with the Peace Corps at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in Multimedia A in the Ruth Ann Musick Library.

After graduating in 2014 with a degree in theatre arts, Dennison served with AmeriCorps Energy Express and AmeriCorps VISTA to develop community theater activities in Grafton, West Virginia. He went on to volunteer with the Peace Corps, serving in Rwanda from 2015 through 2017.

As the birthplace of the International Thespian Society and Alpha Psi Omega, the collegiate honorary drama fraternity, Fairmont State University has a long and storied history of providing quality theatre for North Central West Virginia. As part of FSU’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, the Department of Communication and Theatre Arts presents “95 Years and Counting: A Celebration of Fairmont State Theatre” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, in Wallman Hall Theatre.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and The FSU Academy for the Arts present “Big and Little Tales: An Evening of Story and Theatre,” featuring West Virginia storyteller Adam Booth followed by the FSU Youth Acting Company’s adaptions of Bil Lepp’s story, “The King of Little Things.” 

Auditions Planned for Production of "It's a Wonderful Life"

Fairmont State University’s Town and Gown Theatre is scheduling auditions for a reader’s theatre production of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Auditions will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 10 and 11, in Wallman Hall on the Fairmont State campus. The production will be performed on Dec. 5 through 14 on the FSU campus and other venues in the area.

The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and Town & Gown theatre group announce open auditions for “Sleepy Hollow,” an original musical written by Jim Christian and Tom Edward Clark.  The story is inspired by “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” the classic American short story written by Washington Irving. The production is directed by Francene Kirk; the music director is R.J. Nestor, and the choreographer is Susan Cato.
