Along with industry partners in education, Civil Engineering Technology seniors at Fairmont State University are studying a real-life engineering issue--the earth movement along U.S. Route 250 between Mary Lou Retton Drive and Holbert Road in Fairmont.
Kathleen McDiffitt, a student at Fairmont State University (FSU) in West Virginia, was recently named one of ten 2017 New Faces of Civil Engineering—College Edition by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Fairmont State University’s American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter continues its tradition of national excellence. For the 13th consecutive year, FSU represented the region at the ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition. This year, the team placed 12th in the nation overall, tying its previous best ranking, and broke a record in the women’s sprints with a ninth place finish.
Fairmont State University’s American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter continues its tradition of excellence with its 13th consecutive regional concrete canoe win. The team will represent the region at the National Concrete Canoe Competition for the 13th year in a row, also a current national record for most consecutive national appearances.
