Fairmont State University is pleased to announce that the Supreme Court of West Virginia affirmed the decision of the Marion County circuit court, approving the University’s application for authorization to establish and operate a new law enforcement training academy.

Fairmont State University and the ALICE Training Institute have teamed up to bring ALICE Instructor Certification Training to Fairmont, West Virginia, on December 11-12, 2019. The course will be held at in the Turley Center on Fairmont State’s campus.

Fairmont State Chief of Police recognized for life-saving act

Fairmont State University’s Chief of Police Matt Swain was given the Heroism Award by the Marion County Rescue Squad at the Night of Recognition. 

Squad administrator Michael Angelucci said Chief Swain was given the award for his life-saving act in the spring.
