Two English majors will represent Fairmont State University at the annual meeting of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honorary society. The convention will be held Feb. 26 through March 1 in Savannah, Ga.
"Rocket Boys The Musical" runs Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 20 through 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Wallman Hall Theatre on the main campus of Fairmont State University. Dr. Judy P. Byers, editor, and Patricia Musick, principle illustrator, were on hand to sign copies of the book, “Mountain Mother Goose: Child Lore of West Virginia”. Decades in the making, the book is based on the child lore collections of Dr. Walter Barnes and Dr. Ruth Ann Musick, both retired Fairmont State faculty members.
The Fairmont State Alumni Association is hosting welcome reception for Head Coach Jason Woodman as the Fighting Falcons prepare to kick off the 2013 football season.
Woodman and his staff will be available to meet and greet Falcon Fans during the event scheduled for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Erickson Alumni Center. Admission is free and open to the public. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available.
