FSU students are invited to submit a winter holiday art piece that can be used as the cover of FSU’s holiday card. In addition to having their piece seen by thousands of people, the winning artist will also receive an iPad2. Show your talent and Falcon pride today. 

Parkersburg High School Takes Home Engineering and Science Trophy

Parkersburg High School earned bragging rights as the overall champions at the Fourth Annual Engineering and Science Challenge on Friday, Sept. 23. As the school with the most first place finishes, Parkersburg took home the travelling trophy and bragging rights for the year. About 350 area high school students from 12 high schools attended and the event was hosted by Fairmont State University's College of Science & Technology.

Live at Lunch, featuring FSU Student Chris Hansen, will be held on Tuesday, September 27 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Main Street in the Falcon Center.

Fourth Annual Haiku Death Match

The fourth annual Haiku Death Match will be held on Friday, September 23. The event will be located in MMA at the Ruth Ann Musick library and begin at 4 p.m.

The yearly contest pits faculty members against one another in an effort to write the best haiku based on topics suggested by the audience.  Contestants have ninety seconds to write each haiku. This marks the fourth year of the event, organized by Dr. Elizabeth Savage and sponsored by the Department of Language and Literature.

The Hon. Michael Aloi, Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit, Marion County, gave a presentation in commemoration of Constitution Day titled “Citizenship and the Constitution.” The event is sponsored by Alpha Phi Sigma.

The event was from noon to 12:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in Multi-media Room A of the Ruth Ann Musick Library on the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College.
