The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts and the Department of Language and Literature present the American Shakespeare Center’s “Almost Blasphemy Tour” for a week of Elizabethan lyricism, love and oh-so-bitter woe. Three separate productions will take place in Wallman Hall Theatre — “The Winter’s Tale,” “ ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The ticket price for each performance is $10 per person. The series continues at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Colebank Hall Gym with Liz Murray, whose life story was the subject of the Lifetime Television movie “From Homeless to Harvard.”

Canstruction Competition Helps Fight Hunger

Fairmont State University’s American Institute of Architecture Students organization will be competing in the 2012 Canstruction competition in Charleston on Tuesday, March 6. While constructing an object made entirely out of cans is half the battle, the real focus of the event is battling hunger.
