A new event at Fairmont State University in November offers a fun evening of sipping hot apple cider, live music, dinner, dancing and a silent auction – with proceeds benefiting students.
The School of Fine Arts and Town & Gown Players of Fairmont State University will present “Cabaret” by Joe Masteroff from Nov. 11 through 19 on the Wallman Hall stage. Directed by Troy Snyder,Associate Professor of Theatre, performances will take place in the Wallman Hall on the main FSU campus at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 13. The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Grant Cooper and featuring Jon Kimura Parker on piano, will perform a concert of music by Dukas, Stravinsky and Rachmaninoff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10.
The Office of Residence Life is hosting a Haunted Halls event on the shared main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 26.
PROMISE Scholar Freshmen are invited to meet with their PROMISE Academic and Financial Aid Advisors, as well as the Director of Community Service Learning at one of two meetings scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 12:30p.m. in Hardway Hall (Rm) 219 and Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 3:00p.m. in Library MMB. The meetings should last approximately 45 minutes. Pizza will be served.
The traditional Homecoming Parade for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College presented by Student Government will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in downtown Fairmont. Student Government has selected FSU alumni Frank and Jane Gabor, as parade marshals.
With the theme, “Let Your Dreams Become Your Reality,” Homecoming 2011 for Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College, set for Oct. 24-29, will be a week packed with alumni, athletics, student and community events.
