The Fairmont State Foundation has announced that a donation from the Sgt. Todd May Memorial Fund Committee has provided the final funds needed for Fairmont State University’s matching grant from the West Virginia Research Trust Fund as part of the “Bucks for Brains” program.
Over 100 FSU alumni and friends headed to Pittsburgh on June 15th to see the Pirates take on the Dodgers as part of the Fairmont State Alumni Association's 2013 PNC Day in the Park. The sold-out event included a pre-game tailgate, the Pirates game and a post-game Fan Jam concert featuring Blues Traveler.
Alumni and friends of FSU football gathered on April 25th to catch the annual maroon & white game. There was a great crowd! On Friday, April 26th fans showed their support by participating in the Friends of Football Golf Tournament at Green Hills. There were over 120 golfers and all proceeds benefited FSU football.
Comedy Uncorked was held Friday, April 19th at Heston Farm Winery in Fairmont. A sold-out crowd enjoyed Seven Stories Theatre Company, with special guests Fearless Fools and Vintage Theatre Improv, for a hilarious night of improvised comedy in the tradition on shows like “Whose Line is it Anyway?” Audience members helped the fun unfold by offering suggestions on characters, styles, and comedic problems for the talented troupe to play. All proceeds from the event benefited the Fairmont Fund.
FSU Alumni gathered on April 13th at the National Pastime Bar and Grill in the Gaylord National Harbor. It was a great night of food, fun and friends and there is a lot of excitement in the air for the next event! The family of the late Sgt. Michael Todd May, representatives of the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Fairmont State University community gathered on Tuesday, March 5, for a ceremony to dedicate donations made in May’s memory.
