Arrival in Rome Italy

Day 2 - Tuesday, June 12 - Arrival in Rome, Italy. 

On arrival at the Rome Airport, we meet our professional tour director who will travel with us throughout our trip. On the way to the hotel, we will be given a brief city orientation as we enjoy panoramic sightseeing.  The remainder of the day will be free to rest or explore.  This evening, our travelers will enjoy an excursion to Tivoli with a welcome dinner. We leave Rome for a guided visit of the famous Villa D'Este Gardens and fountains in Tivoli, followed by a typical Italian country style dinner with wine, spumante, and music. Tonight, we will see Rome beautifully illuminated on our return from Tivoli.  This is a great way to end our first day in the "Eternal City".  Overnight Rome.

 We arrived at our hotel around 1:30 pm Italian time and had time to shower and rest a minute before meeting in the lobby for a brief get together and some Italian hospitality including "vino". After this short respite we departed for the Villa D'Este Gardens and fountains in Tivoli. After walking the gardens, and walking the gardens, and walking the gardens, we struggled back up the hill to our bus. We then had a lovely dinner in a hilltop restaurant complete with entertainment. There was singing and dancing and a beautiful sunset. Our "coach" awaited and motored us back to our hotel.
