** Metro Residents must reside in one of the following states:

  • Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, or Kentucky and
  • Must be a first time attending student at Fairmont State University, current students are excluded

Notes on Costs

  • Full Time - defined as 12 or more credit hours each term
  • Tuition - based on the location of all classes being on the main campus
  • Books/Supplies - equal to the average from a random sample of student schedules
  • On-Campus Room/Board - average room costs for college residence hall, rent, meals, and reasonable utilities
  • Transportation - an amount sufficient to cover daily driving costs to classes and minimal trips to permanent residence
  • Personal - miscellaneous personal items for the academic year; commuter budget also includes an allowance for costs associated with maintaining student in parents' household

The following additional fees, among others, may be charged as applicable:

  • New Student/Registration Fee: $120.00/one-time fee
  • Nursing Program Fees: $300.00/per semester
  • Business Program Fees: $200.00/per semester
  • Architecture Program Fees: $200.00/per semester
  • Science & Technology Program Fees: $250.00/per semester
  • Liberal Arts Program Fees: $200.00/per semester
  • Fine Arts Program Fees:  $100.00/per semester
  • Education Program Fees:  $100.00/per semester
  • Exploratory Program Fees:  $100.00/per semester
