When did the Falcon Center close and then reopen?
The Falcon Center was officially closed on 3-16-20.  Students, faculty, and staff were allowed back on 8-10-20.  Community members and dependents on employee accounts will be allowed back on 5-17-21.

What is going to happen with my membership?
If you are a community member or a dependent on employee accounts, we will extend your current membership by the time frame of non-usage determined by when the Falcon Center opens for your use.

What will happen with my locker?
We will extend your locker by the time frame of non-usage determined by when the Falcon Center opens 5-17-21.

What safety protocols are in place throughout the Falcon Center?

  • Entrance COVID-19 questionnaire to be answered by all patrons before access to the Rec Center.
  • Masks are required to be worn at all times inside the facility, including while exercising.
  • Reduced area capacities.
  • Limited weight room equipment available to ensure 6 ft. social distancing.
  • 6 ft. social distancing designated throughout the facility.
  • Limited equipment checkout, including no towel service.
  • Only water bottle filling stations are available (except in the weight room).
  • Limited hallway lockers are available for use.

What offerings are different at the Falcon Center?

  • The pool is closed for the summer.
  • Fitness rooms are available but must be checked out through the Reception Desk.

Has anything changed with how I access the facility?
No, you still access the facility from the same entrance using the card you already have.  Although while you were gone, we added a mobile application!  You can now download the mobile app in both the Apple and Google Play Stores. After downloading the app, you can log in or create an account to have a digital ID card to access the facility and various other information related to the Falcon Center to keep you updated!  Please reach out to the Falcon Center professional staff with any questions you might have!

Are Group Fitness classes currently being offered?
Currently, during the summer, there are no group fitness classes offered. However, members can take advantage of our Fitness On Demand program in Fitness Room A, allowing you to play various classes at your leisure. 

How can I continue to stay active during this time?
We have established a list of programs and free services that are available to you during this time.  We encourage you to take advantage of our offerings to continue staying active!  You can view the full list on our Virtual Fitness Programs page.

Can I hold my child's birthday party at the Falcon Center?
At this time, the Falcon Center is not holding any Bounce House or Pool Parties.  At which time we begin holding those parties again, we will update our website accordingly.  For other event-related questions, please contact our conference services department at 304-367-4090 or jennie.sigman@fairmontstate.edu.

Are you offering private swimming lessons?
We have not restarted our swimming lessons at this point and do not have a date set to begin those again.  Please visit our swimming lesson page for updates as to when those may begin again.

Will the Falcon Center Summer Camp be offered for the Summer of 2021?
Unfortunately, in early March 2021, the decision was made to forgo the camp again this summer. We are sad to be missing out on seeing the children on campus again but look forward to seeing them again.  Please continue to visit the Day Camp page for future updates.
