I have a BS in EE from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, EU, in 1984, and a MSEE (Master Degree) from West Virginia University, in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on Electronics and Photonics. I received my MSEE on December 2003.
I obtained my PE (professional engineer) Certification (2009). I had several jobs as an Electrical Engineer, some worth mentioning are: R&D Engineer for HSC Industrial, from 2006 - 2010, and Doddridge Controls, from 2010 to 2013. Before coming to Academia, I worked as a Contractor for HSC Industrial, LLC.
Some interests of mine are Robotics, Solar, PLCs and in general hardware and software related to electronic instrumentation.
I like teaching at FSU because I have 30 years of engineering experience that I am sharing with my students. I am trying to help them understand the (sometimes) hard but very beautiful concepts related to Electronics! I am teaching in the Engineering Department, I have great colleagues, I have great conditions to prepare my courses, lectures and labs, and people all over the Campus are trying to make my life and student’s lives easier. I like also the fact that FSU is smaller than other universities, thus the student – professor ratio is rewarding. I am able to get a lot of feedback from students and give them feedback. I have a bunch of ideas to improve the Electronics Curriculum, and I hope that together with my colleague, Professor McLaughlin, we will attract more students to the program.
