Aaron Saas is the temporary Assistant Professor of Cyber Security at Fairmont State University and a PhD student in computer science at West Virginia University.  He earned his MS in Software Engineering from West Virginia University.  He is also a former graduate of Fairmont State University with a BS in Computer Science, West Liberty University with a BS in Business specializing in Computer Information Systems, and West Virginia Northern Community College with an AS in Science.  His teaching experience ranges from software engineering to computer science to computer security covering such topics as operating systems, cyber security, Linux, software engineering, programming, and ethics.

Aaron Saas’s research has focused on the detection of malware in the Android operating system.  With malware constantly being upgraded and reworked to avoid detection, research is being focused on leveraging data mining and machine learning techniques to help aid in its discovery.
