Transfer Students

Transfer Students

Changing schools feels like starting over, doesn’t it? You have to research colleges, complete application forms, and submit fees. Naturally, we encourage you to consider us...but most importantly, we want you to make a good decision. Here are some things about us to help you decide whether our campus and programs are a good fit:

  • We emphasize great teaching. We hire faculty who are not only credentialed professionals, but also outstanding educators.
  • Our academic programs are designed to launch you in a career or graduate school. Our chemistry department boasts 90 percent placement in top graduate schools.
  • We mentor students to achieve the real goals behind their dreams.
  • You will acquire great leadership skills and have many opportunities to help the community. Whether it’s working as a resident assistant or heading a project for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), you will learn to make things happen for yourself and others.
  • New, current, and prospective students can use the Transfer Equivalency System to help best guide them with course work that they may want to take or have already taken and wonder how it will apply to them here at Fairmont State University.
  • We have an attractive, friendly campus. Come see for yourself by visiting us. That way you’ll know for sure whether we are the best next step for you.
  • You could qualify for our Transfer Scholarship, which is awarded at the time that you apply, no additional application required!
  • Fairmont State University only reviews transferable credit from regionally accredited institutions and institutions with national accreditation that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for acceptance as credit in our academic programs. The most current listing of sanctioned accrediting bodies can be found at the U.S. Department of Education website.
