The AIAS Students travel to different Graduate Schools and cities to learn more about the areas with a strong architecture influence and also to learn more about the students and schools. During the Summer in 2013 the AIAS traveled to Chicago to visit 3 different Graduate School, (Notre Dame, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Univeristy Illinois at Chicago). We visited IIT Campus which has, Crown Hall designed by Mies Van Der Rohe, State st. Village designed by Helmut Hahn, The Student Center designed by Rem Koolhaas. We also spent time at the Sears Tower/ Willis Tower overlooking the city on the skydeck at sunset; Millennium Park to see Pritzker Pavilion design by Frank Gehry, The Bean, and Crown Fountain. We visited Unity Temple, Robie House, and The Home and Studio all designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. We were even able to go to the Cubs Baseball Game to see one of the oldest staduims in the United States. On the way back we visited the Farnsworth House designed by Mies Van Der Rohe.
