If you wish to make a change in your room assignment, you must wait until arriving in August to do so. Assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve basis based on the date when completed applications and deposits are received by the Residence Life Office.
In order for a specific roommate request to be considered, both parties must name each other on their respective applications in the roommate search option (step number nine). Please do not assume that because you request a specific person for a roommate that you will automatically be placed in a room with him or her. We will do everything possible to honor your roommate request without impacting other student’s housing assignments based upon their date of application. Requests received after room assignments have been made will not be honored.
The residence life staff coordinates room changes during the academic year. Residents must wait two weeks at the start of each semester during the room freeze period. Room swap request forms for students wishing to change rooms are available by contacting your Residence Director.
Residents will be required to consolidate during the semester in the event that a vacancy should occur in their double room and we are unable to fill that vacancy. Residents will be allowed to move in with another student with a vacancy, or have another student move into their room. Residents may be charged to buyout the vacancy in their room if they fail to comply with the consolidation process.
