The Office of Retention at Fairmont State University is pleased to invite you to attend Family Weekend 2017, scheduled to take place September 30, 2017 through October 1, 2017. During this annual event, Fairmont State family members will have an unparalleled opportunity to check in on their students, to enjoy fellowship, and much more.
For the third year, Family Weekend will coincide with Fairmont State’s Homecoming! This arrangement allows families access to a wide range of unique and enjoyable events, including the Homecoming football game, tailgate and more! Family Weekend events include a Falcon Family Association Annual Meeting (includes Assoc.-only giveaways AND scholarship raffle), a FREE tailgate lunch, and numerous make-and-take stations to enjoy with your student at the big game.
It is important to note that the Family Weekend event is FREE for all registrants, but that families should come prepared to purchase any Bookstore merchandise in which they may be interested, as well as the dinner-time meal on Saturday, September 30th. That evening, families will have the opportunity to partake in The Fairmont Tasting Excursion, where they can hop on a bus (our treat!) and visit local participating restaurants for dinner, drinks and dessert! For more information and to RSVP for this excursion, please click here. Families may choose instead that same evening to purchase a meal on-campus (Locust Ave. campus) in the Dining Hall. The Retention Office would estimate that having approximately $10 on-hand per family member would be best. Again, no registration fee exists for the event. And, family members will receive thank you gifts at the time of check-in.
