As a reminder, this site will begin accepting RSVPs in April of 2014. Please feel free to review the information below at this time, but remember to check back for updates and to officially RSVP.
WELCOME WEEKEND: MOVE-IN PROCESS
Residence Hall Move-In, which will kick-off the broader event series called ‘Welcome Weekend’, will officially commence Friday morning, August 15th. Certain time frames will be assigned to each residence hall for move-in purposes (Bryant and Prichard Halls from 8 - 10 AM; Pence and Morrow Halls from 10 AM - 12 Noon). These details and more will be included in a separate mailing that will arrive early August. Please review that mailing thoroughly to note your assigned move-in time, as well as your final residence hall assignment. You will also notice an important enclosure – a color-coded pass which we will ask that you place on your dashboard move-in morning. Again, more details will follow regarding this important process (including your assigned move-in time). NOTE: If you have are traveling a significant distance in order to move-in and would like to learn more about move-in alternatives, please contact us at: Retention@fairmontstate.edu.
While the move-in process is a strategic one, we will make every effort to see that it’s enjoyable too! In fact, hoards of volunteers will be on-hand Friday morning (other move-in times are an exception) to help ease the burden of toting in all your belongings. These helpful volunteers are your peers – current students who want to see that you have a great experience and transition, just like their own.
Again, move-in merely kicks-off this important event series. Students will be expected to officially Check-In to the Welcome Weekend program (a specific time and location for which will be provided here in April of 2014). Fall Orientation programming commences for students and family members promptly following check-in. Once Fall Orientation is through and families have departed on Friday, the Welcome Weekend event dials up a notch, providing much entertainment and information on both Saturday and Sunday.
It is important that each student RSVP for the program (which inclues Move-In). In order to officially RSVP, please revisit this page in April '14. At that time, you will complete and submit an electronic RSVP form and will receive a digital (as well as hard copy via postal mail) confirmation packet.
