The Fairmont State University Collegiate Singers and Wind Ensemble will present a concert on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 pm in Wallman Hall Auditorium.
Guest artist Peter Wilson, violin, with John Morrison, piano, will present a concert on Thursday, Feb. 13, as part of the “Music on the Hill Artists Series.”
The Fairmont State University School of Fine Arts will host saxophone duo Ogni Suono for a contemporary saxophone concert on Thursday, Feb. 6, as well as a saxophone master class.
Fairmont State’s Department of Music will present its second annual Fête de Noël Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in Colebank Hall. A public reception will begin at 7 p.m. in Colebank Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission at the door, $5 for seniors and FSU and Pierpont faculty and staff and free for FSU and Pierpont students and children.
The Fairmont State University Woodwind Quintet, “Cinq Nuances de Violette,” coached by Dr. Constance Edwards, will perform a recital at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Wallman Hall Room 229.
On November 17, at 6:00 pm, Fairmont State University student Elizabeth Bertovich will be having her Senior Recital. Bertovich, a percussionist and a student of Ryan Frost, will be performing pieces on marimba, timpani and multiple percussion from composers such as Mitchell Peters, Erik Satie, Alice Gomez, Steve Reich and James Campbell. This recital will be on the FSU Campus in Wallman Hall Room 229.
The Fairmont State University Community Orchestra will be having a concert at 3:00 p.m. November 3 in Colebank Hall. , Directed by Jack Ashton with piano soloist Paul-Andrè Bempèchat, the program will include Hebridges (Fingal’s Cave) Overture, Op. 26 by Felix Mendelssohn, Petite Suite by Claude Debussy (Orchestrated by Henri Busser), Symphony No. 90 by Joseph Haydn and Piano Concerto No.
