Dance

Little Ballerinas for 3-6 year olds

Saturday from 10am-10:45 am.
$96 per student
*Ballet slippers, leotard, and tights are required

Beginning Ballet for ages 6-10

Improve with Improv

Learn basic improv skills to help you improve as an actor or in everyday situations.    Through basic techniques and games, students will learn how an improv show is constructed including the exercises involved, some games and how it can apply to acting.

Learn basic acting warm ups and techniques as well as what it takes to put on a show.   Over the course students will learn how to best approach acting through various methods that work best for them.  Together a show will be put together, learning everything from the choosing the script, the rehearsals and a finished product of a performance.

-This class will explore drama games to help develop our bodies, voices and imaginations as well as explore how drama games can be used to think about creating character. A great class to try if you are relatively new to drama or if you just want to have some fun learning!

Stage Makeup Magic

Students will learn the art and the craft of stage makeup.  They will become familiar with the tools and techniques used in stage makeup as well as simple special fx techniques.  Students will have creative freedom within the confines of each lesson.   We will learn old age, fantasy, animal, zombie and many more applications.

Yoga

LET’S PRETEND! – KIDS YOGA

A fun class where children can use their imaginations while learning breath and body awareness. Each class will include a story that students will act out using yoga poses!

 

YOGA FOR YOUNG ARTISTS

Ages 8-12 years

3 Thursdays at 5:30 (1 hour)

Yoga can enhance performance in all of the arts. In this class, young artists will learn breath awareness and body awareness as well as relaxation techniques. While each class emphasizes a different art, they all work together to improve the skills of the budding artist. Exercises will carry over from one class to the next.

 

Week 1:                Body Awareness

                                Emphasis on: Theatre and Dance

Students will learn basic yoga poses and sun salutations. They will also practice cooperation and trust exercises to learn how function better in a troupe or ensemble.

 

Week 2:                Breath Awareness

                                Emphasis on: Music (instrumental and vocal) and Theatre

Students will learn breathing techniques to increase lung capacity, control nervousness, and enhance energy. They will also learn how to link the breath to movement and sound.

                               

Week 3:                Meditation

                                Emphasis on: Visual Arts and Creative Writing

Students will use meditation and visualization to spark imagination. This class will include an art project (Making Mandalas) and/or creative writing.

 

 

 

 

Kindermusik

Make baby’s first class musical! Our Foundations classes offer a sensory-rich yet caring and gentle environment where infants can explore and react to new sounds, sensations, and objects. Shared activities for babies and their caregivers provide the opportunity to strengthen your connection with your child through joyful music-making experiences.

 

Multi-Age Class: "Make Way for Music"

Ages 18 months- 5 years

Mixed-age classes offer the perfect setting for weekly family bonding time and inspire ideas for more music exploration, play, and fun at home. Your Kindermusik educator will help you modify movement activities, group dances, and instrument-play activities for each of your children.

 

“Pantastic” - Steel Drum Band for Beginners

Learn all about the steel drum instruments, with hands-on playing and performance. Originated on the island of Trinidad and now popular worldwide, the unique sound of the steel drum is fun and infectious for performers and listeners alike.

Music will be taught by “rote”, so no music reading experience is necessary. You will learn several songs on these instruments while having a great time!

Minimum enrollees: 2 

Maximum enrollees: 10

Age range: Grades 5-12

No experience necessary, all instruments and music are provided

 $200 for 8-week session, plus a $20 materials fee for mallets (paid directly to the instructors)
