The Physical Plant staff members are often the first to arrive on campus and the last to leave each day. It is no small feat to maintain the 120-acre main campus and off-campus facilities. Jamie Colanero will tell you – it’s all about first impressions. As Director of Road and Grounds and Special Events Coordinator, he says: “Anytime we go anywhere, the first thing is the attention to detail. Do it right first.” That attention to detail shows – from the colorful flowers in the spring and summer, to the roads kept free of snow in the winter. Visitors to campus often comment on our beautiful, well-maintained grounds. Jamie says: “Sometimes the compliments give me goose bumps. They’re phenomenal. It makes us feel great that we are helping.”
